Next morning we’re picked up by a small green car driven by Feli, a Tenerife German since she’s five. Feli is our first Couchsurfing host, welcoming us to stay at her father’s marvellous villa. The house is really impressive – just like the Spanish villas you see in the pictures, with a large kitchen and a dinning area with breathtaking views both during the day and at night. And all around the house are 6000 square meters of wild garden, also home to a dozen of chickens and three very happy dogs! Feli herself is completely dedicated to nature and her garden. The few days here had a distinct rhythm – morning coffee on the terrace, cooking food in the spacious old-style kitchen, playing with the dogs, helping Feli with some garden work, zigzagging downhill to the nearest store for bread and milk, lighting a fire in the evening to warm up. Unfortunately two days later the heavy clouds found us here too (we’re still 950 meters above sea level) and it was time again to look for a warmer place. This time we aim straight for the south coast, the Mecca of the sun. Here, we meet another jolly Couchsurfing host, a Lithuanian named Richard!

Sekantį rytą mūsų pasiimti atvažiavo žalia mašinėlė su Tenerifės vokiete Feli. Ji mūsų pirmoji Couchsurfing’o “šeimininkė”, porai naktų leidusi apsistoti tėčio viloje. O namas įspūdingas – tikra ispaniška vila su didžiule virtuve ir iš valgomojo atsveriančiu vaizdu į nameliais nusėtą slėnį bei mėlynąjį vandenyną. Kvapą gniaužiantis vaizdas tiek dieną, tiek naktį, įsižiebus tūkstančiams žiburėlių. O aplinkui namą didžiulis laukinis sodas, vištų gardas ir trys nutrūktgalviai šunys! Pati Feli – ypatinga mergina, nuo penkių metų gyvenanti Tenerifėje, atsidavusi gamtai ir savo sodui! Kelios dienos ten tekėjo visai kitu ritmu – geriant kavą terasoje, gaminant maistą didžiulėje senoviško stiliaus virtuvėje, žaidžiant su šunimis kieme, padedant Feli sode, leidžiantis nuo kalno į kaimelį, parsinešti duonos pieno bei šildantis vakare prie židinio… bet rūkas atslinko ir čia (mes vis dar 950m. virš jūros lygio) ir mes nieko nebelaukdami išsiruošėm į salos pietus ieškoti saulės. O čia mūsų išgelbėtojas – dar vienas Couchsurfing’o “šeimininkas” lietuvis Ričardas :)
